Hi all. Looking at a mf175

Seems on the cheap end especially for being at a dealer. I would look it over really good, it could have other problems. Gassers are a hard sell these days.

    1965 Massey 175 3-point Hitch Problems

I would just put a whole pump in it. They are pretty cheap and seem to be good quality. Its pretty deep in there to get to a pump.

    175 axle leaking

I felt my 180 came apart fairly easy. I took a forcing screw and the cross beam from a big puller and it came right apart. It has been soaked in oil its whole life so its not like it is a press fit plus the fight of rust. My 20 ton press put it together plenty fine. A little oil and back it...

    Pig in a Poke Hoe

The tins all look 100 series industrial to me. First I would think a 3165 but I don't see where a 3165 ever came in a 4 cylinder Perkins gas configuration. I looked up a 31 (industrial 175) and they only came with the diesel. More googling led me to the Massey Ferguson 30. Available with a...

    Massey Ferguson medallion question

I had The Chrome Shop in Rock Island, IL redo my 180 medallion's, cross bar, cross bar logo and center steering wheel cap. You will still have to paint the black but it will be replated. I have not painted mine yet but the plating looks awesome.

    175 MF lift issue

There is an adjustment for max height. Do you have a service manual? There is a whole procedure.

    MF65 with Loader...Transmission oil

The VP Fuels J20 at TSC says it meet 1129A spec and that is what I run in mine. Seems to be fine oil.

    Rantoul Show

I'm going Thursday through Saturday been a few times now. Saturday is the best but the busiest. Friday is the second best. Thursday the tractor drive is most of the day. I haven't ever stayed until Sunday but as you mentioned many times stuff is leaving early Sunday. I heard that cart...

    MF 180 PTO not working

In general yes but you need to determine if it has a 2 stage clutch or an independent PTO. From there that will determine if your problem is in the main clutch or the PTO clutch pack. Either way expect a transmission/motor split or a transmission/motor/transmission-center housing split. Does...

    Adding hydraulic output 180

Yes, there was an option for dual remotes or single. Find a bone yard and get one off of a 180. It will not be cheap though probably be $300-$400. Make sure you get the handles and lines, all of that is 180 specific. The box from 165, 175, 275, etc will work but make sure it is the true...

    Massey 1080

Dieseltech is spot on, the 3pt pump only runs the 3 point nothing else. Sounds to me like you need pumps.

What to check through clutch inspection plate?

There will always be some oil up in there, we could debate how much is too much but it won't be bone dry. The cotter key is in the bottom to let it drip and keep it off the clutch. Multi-powers seep oil a little bit even fresh ones (according to the multiple Massey folks I've spoke to). Park...

    180 Steering

Here are the photos of the finished product. All in all I'd recommend a longer hose probably 24 or 36 to get where the hose would be at the bottom of the right hand inspection plate and easy to get to but I'll probably just remove the plate to grease it. This post was edited by...
