    265 Massey Ferguson steering

Your orbital valve in the steering column is undoubtedly your problem. Pumps regulate fluid pressures, lines move the pressure. This valve opens and closes in relationship to the steering wheel position to provide direction to the steering cylinder. There is a procedure for rebuild and...

    Pricey Baldwin filters

Rock Auto shows the PT71 Baldwin filter at 9.20 each. Obviously you pay a little for shipping, but may save you money if you order multiples like I do with my stock orders. I find quite a few Wix filters on "warehouse closeout" which have been as low as 2.12 per filter. The boxes are dusty or...

    MF 2805

I really enjoy my 2805. Mine has 1945 hours as of last week. It's used on an 80 acre farm. Still has the original rear tires and original paint. In fact, tractordata.com has my photo in the photo section for that model. It gets about 15 hours a year and is part of one show a year.

    F40 Trials and Tribulations

If you require choke to run, you have a fuel issue. If you add choke and it runs better, you have a fuel issue. I'd dump the electronic ignition as I've not had any good luck with any of them. Tractors have run for decades without them, no reason to change.

    Deere 6620

Thank you! That's what I was hoping to see! I'll dig more into it when it warms up, but at least the crops are off.

    Deere 6620

Short story, dad passed in January of 2021 and left me the farm and equipment. The combine had been sitting for 12 years. I have it running and it seems to be doing well except the feeder house and head. I have pulled the switch in the cab for the electromagnetic clutch, but still no go. I have...

    MF250 Dash Warning Lights

Agreed on the auto parts store. I bought a pack of 5 for a couple bucks that are twist locks like these.

Does a MF 1240 Have A External Voltage Regulator

Single wire with built in regulator. Any alternator need about 900 to 1000 rpm to excite and charge. If you idle an engine all the time, it's highly unlikely that it will fully charge your battery. As far as discharging while it's not running, either the diode in the regulator has failed or...

    Deere 6620

I've checked voltages. Nothing at the green wite as the diagram shows. I tried a test wire with 12 volts and there is no clicks, nothing. I have over at my switch when the ignition is on and not running. My next check is the wiring harness.

    HELP Massey 165 won't run

Your wires should be a copper core center wire and not a silicone based conductor. You didn't mention if your plugs are discolored but I assume they are consistent. Do you have a spark test tool to install in line with the plug and wire? It would be interesting to see if you actually have spark...

    4840 and the 880 plow

I have my 4840 and an on land 880 plow I'd like to get together. Anyone done it and what do I need to make it all work? It appears my cat2 coupler is narrow compared to the cat3 on the tractor. It has the 3 point lift blocks in place which limits movement of the arms. It's just something I'm...

    Question

I have a 1080. They definitely do not jump in value like the green machines. In fact, massey had alot of head gasket issues with the 318 motors. That alone makes me hesitant about buying a second one. Mine received a new engine at 2500 hours and I currently have 3600 on it. But over time, tires...

    Silver mist paint

This was a perfect match for me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/125713360835?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=UJ_xhpPERO6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=9WYriXwPT_K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL

    My 4840

I have the cummins manual as well as the massey 4800 series manual. Everything went good I think. I set them after the rebuild and checked and reset everything a couple days ago. The initial measurement was spot on to the reset. Gotta wait til it warms up a bit and stops raining for a startup...
