    Wider Rims/Tires for Ford 2000

Most wheels I’ve seen are 4.75 backspacing…isn’t that stock for a ford 2000?

    Wider Rims/Tires for Ford 2000

Thanks all for the replies. It seems like a good mix of responses on a 7.5-9.5 inch tire. I’m still concerned about mud traction with a truck tire, but if I can find some dirt cheap I guess it’s worth a shot. Seems like common truck tires are a little wider which would push me closer to an 8...

    Wider Rims/Tires for Ford 2000

Hello, I’m looking for advice on wider rims and tires for the front of my 64 Ford 2000 with a 703 loader and power steering. The stock 5.5-16 tires are tearing up my yard and can barely handle the weight. My soil type is clay and at times muddy so I’m not sure how well truck tires would do and...

Need help with packing Ford 19-97 Cylinders

So I found a hydraulic shop that sells cylinder parts and they were able to get me what I needed. I think he said he found the right seals at a place called Hercules. Anyways I got those and everything put back together. Now it s leaking around the rods just as bad or worse than before. It s...

Need help with packing Ford 19-97 Cylinders

I m working on a 19-97 Ford Loader with double acting cylinders. The bucket tilt cylinders were leaking so I ordered a seal kit. Looking at the old seals and what came in the kit I m not sure how to proceed. The old piston has 2 seals with a metal sleeve through the center. The new seal kit has...

Need help with packing Ford 19-97 Cylinders

So if ford replaced the original leather seals with the newer design, is there a way to easily convert my piston to accept the newer seals?

Need help with packing Ford 19-97 Cylinders

I found the part number for the kit on the new holland web site251164. Then ordered it from reliable aftermarket parts. My preference was to buy a kit vs dragging bag full of seals and o-rings to the hydraulic shop and having them measure everything and hopefully get the right parts. I guess I...

Any way to seal a carb bowl with porosity?

I have a 1964 ford 2000 4-cylinder with a marvel schebler tsx765 carb. It s always had a slow leak, even with the fuel petcock off it will leak about a drop a day. I ve tried a full rebuild kit and I ve got my float height set right. The carb bowl gasket and intake side of the carb are dry so I...

Any way to seal a carb bowl with porosity?

The 1 drip a day was more of a one drip that actually makes it to the bottom of the carb and falls off. The front and bottom of the bowl stays wet. If I and leaking at the inlet it s strange that it s dry up there but wet at the mid point of the bowl and down

Any way to seal a carb bowl with porosity?

You can t tell from the picture, but the inlet connection gaskets are dry. I ve had those leak before too and I could tell by the wetness around the gasket. I ve had about every kind of leak and this is the last one I can t figure out. :(

Any way to seal a carb bowl with porosity?

I’ve had issues in the past with leaky float valve so the oil filter looks worse. It’s like a drop a day at most now. I ve tried the original steel plug and the brass plug that came with the kit. I guess I could try some kind of gas proof thread sealer. The needle plug is as tight as I can...

Any way to seal a carb bowl with porosity?

I have done exactly what you said about a week ago and the fuel height in the bowl is steady and well below the gasket surface. When I pull the intake off and look in the carb from the intake side it s dry. When I ve had issues with float or float valve in the past that s usually where it s ran...

"Good" 6V generator won t pass a motoring test

Thank you for the replies and advice JMOR. After spending hours and money not getting anywhere I decided the 6V system is not worth the trouble. I ll be converting to 12v and an alternator this weekend.

"Good" 6V generator won t pass a motoring test

I m working on a 1964 Ford 2000 4-cylinder tractor that still has the 6V positive ground system. It seems to be running poorly with some misfire (all spark plugs looks sooty and you can hear the occasional miss). I m only seeing about 6.2V across the battery when the engine is running. As I run...

"Good" 6V generator won t pass a motoring test

Ok, thanks for the reply. I ve been polarizing using the type B instructions, except for the one time I tried battery to the armature and got it to charge for ~20 seconds. Is this sounding like a bad generator considering it will not motor?
