    I just got back from the local tire shop. He has a set of used 18.4x34 Firestone SAT2s and a set of used Galaxy radials same size. The SAT2s have about 3/4" of tread and the Galaxy's have 1" of tread. Which of them would be better for pulling?

    Yes gearing would be a concern. I run 3L and pull TA now and with 20.8 38s I think I'd have to go down to second. Going up to 38s would help with draw bar height. I don't have an issue with the front end coming up. I put 1000 pounds on the back axles at 10500 and another 1000 in the middle at 11500

    Yes I'm spinning out. I think the bars are flexing 50+ feet from the end of the pull which is stealing power also. I've run more pressure which seams to help but not good enough to compete every pull. One of the pulls was on a new track that wasn't as hard as the others and I did well there...

    I learned something new today. I saw two very early Oliver 88 RC tractors and they have mesh grills like a 60/70 on an auction brochure! Never even heard of it before! They are both restored. Any idea what these will bring? And are they the same as a fleetline 88 mechanically?
