How hard is it to replace a belt pulley brake clutch on a 2 cyl 830 j d? Does it come complete or do you have to have to have rivets? Thanks for any help.

I don't know about an 830 but on our 36 B I made a new pad using rolled up shoe leather.

You can buy the pulley brake already riveted to a backing plate and just bend over the tabs to hold it onto the brake arm. Available from Deere or about any after market parts seller including our hosts. I always removed any remaining bits of the old lining. I never owned a 830 but that's the way they were on all the other 2 cyl's.

Yesterdays Tractor parts. I realize model 830 isn't listed but In checked JD 830 parts catalog & that's the correct part # AB4748R.

Parts catalog for the JD 830 offers both the facing D1932R and rivets or the clip on facing AB4748R.. Both will work just fine. You can get this part here on Yesterdays tractor!!
