    Pumpkin gear removal

    I'm trying to fix a lower lift arm loose pin problem on my 1951 8N. Trumpet casting came right off without a hitch. Now to remove the pumpkin gear, it's just resting on the axel shaft and drive shaft gear right? It will just pull Straight out? I'm thinking of putting a rope through it to hold...

    Old tires

    So, I recently purchased a 1950 8N. The rear tires show very little wear, B.F.Goodrich. The front tires are one single rib (marker tire) made by Firestone. And one three rib made by US Royal. The guy I bought this tractor from bought it 28 years ago. I"m sure he never changed the tires. US...

    My new Fords

    I just got these delivered; The one with the gray rear wheels is a 51' with a Sherman combo trans. The one with the red wheels is a 50'. The brackets on the front of the 50' were for a fence post hammer. I got them as non running tractors. But, I think they'll both run! Joe

    1956 640 lift mechanical problem

    I bought a 1956 640 off a guy on the other side of the mountain. ( ok, so it's really a hill!) I split the tractor. Replace the hydro tubes though the trans. Replaced the freeze plugs. Cleaned the water jacket in the block. Replaced the usual wear parts under the seat. Cleaned the hydro system...

    TE-20 block water jacket flush

    So, when I got my Ford 640 it had a leaking freeze plug between the bell housing and the block. While replacing it I pulled the rest of the freeze plugs and flushed the whole block thourghly. I had to shovel a lot of crud, sand, silt, rust, whatever out of there! Glad I did runs nice and cool...

    Te 20 brake conversion

    Worked on my 1949 TE 20 tractor today, and discovered that I have TO 20 brake shoes in it. So, I see three options; 1: get a set of used shoes somewhere. 2: weld metal to these shoes to get them to work properly. 3: convert to newer bendex brakes from a TO 20 (whole system from backing plate)...
