    small progress on big swamp buggy

    I got the hub open, found two huge nuts, eight-sided. And remnants of a locking washer tab thing. I'm assuming these go onto the spindle. New problem: threads on spindle are ground up, worn bad. How do I deal with this? The big nuts won't turn on more than 2-3 rotations.

    1940 John Deere H Rebuilt magneto sure helps in the cold! (Luke's in Two Rivers) It seems to like less choke and more throttle when starting. I've got it to pop off on the first crank with 1/3 choke and 2/3 throttle.

    Can I store gasoline in a former diesel tank?

    A friend got me these tanks. Both have a gallon or two of diesel sloshing around. Approx 3year old diesel. I want to store gas in the aluminum stand tank. Can I just fill it up? Do I need to rinse it out first? (The red tank with the pump, I want to sell, so I'm leaving as-is)

    I think I did it right. I wasn't sure whether the heavy rubber washer faced outwards or inwards. I guessed inwards, it was a tight, snug fit. I used a small vice to press the green thing together. It was tricky... I had two extra o-rings leftover...I hope that's okay? Next: should I...

    3000 power steering cylinder leak- end off what next?

    I got the end unthreaded from the cylinder and removed the internal snap ring. But what next? The small piece inside moves a little but should it come out? Do I have the starex or a&I cylinder? I plan to buy a seal kit, but there's four to choose from! Tractor is a 1972 Ford 3000 gas.
