    cub snap ring

    What lock ring does it take for the differential shaft on a Cub tractor? The part number is 350 802 R1, the slot with the bearing on the shaft is to narrow for any snap ring I have to fit. Is it a spiral type or outside snap type?? Thanks for any help Dave

    My gas tank mounts different than the 40 or 50, but they have a 6 cylinder Buda and the 35 is a 4 cylinder Hercules. The Buda is longer block so an extension is placed on the 35 mount?? Dave

    My 35 is serial number 35 10043 and engine serial number is 3102066. Your 35 could be a 1956, mine is a 1957, your engine could be correct. Should be a Hercules 4 cylinder with overhead valves. Dave

    1948 cub

    I have not checked for spark, engine was stuck when I got it. I believe I am over thinking mag issue, not sure I have one. After I get engine work done I can work out the mag issue (if I have one) when it is time to try a startup. Thanks for all the input, I have some thoughts to look at. Dave

    This tractor has sit for about 10 years, I did look into the mag today and it does not look like water has gotten in. I was just looking at parts to rebuild mag and they are costly. What do you normally replace when rebuilding a mag?? I may be going over board on parts. The coil is $80.00 alone...
