    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I put it through a work out this morning moving big logs. I am amazed at how much it will lift and drag. Hydraulics, at least in position control, work like expected.

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I just noticed something that may explain why the procedure seen in the attached doc and on uTubes based on it don't produce an acceptable adjustment (as far as how low the arms will go in position control). In those they are holding the arms before adjustment at 1/2 inch above the surface of...

    Jubilee runs rough under load

OK, so I'm updating this thread just to give you all a chance to say I told you so. Before I discovered the coil was my main problem I put a new carburetor on it from Amazon. You know where it was made. It ran OK after a good bit of playing with it. Today I took it down into this valley and...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I decided to adjust it all again last night. This time I replaced the daft control plunger and link rod with the one from eBay. That moved the turn buckle some towards the front which allowed me to back off the turnbuckle to get 3/16 gap. Then I set position control gap at 1/4 inch by...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

That's how I tried to adjust it. I put it in position control, arms all the way down (like in draft control) then moved lever to bottom. I did the adjustment on the bolt but I couldn't turn it enough to get a quart inch gap. It pretty much tightened up with only about 1/8 inch gap. It works...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

OK but back to your instructions , what do I do now that I know there is a quarter inch gap when arms fully down in draft control and lever at 1 inch from top? I changed it to position control with the arms fully down and moved the lever to bottom and the gap narrows to .050". That apparently...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

Yes. I put a piece of tape on the quadrant to be sure. I should add I don't know anything about using draft control but the way it's acting doesn't seem right unless it behaves considerably with an implement attached.

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

Let me make sure I have the stop thing on right. The shop manual has this warning: "be sure bolt is turned so that eccentric lobe is towards opposite end of quadrant" . Here is pic of the stop thing on the parts I just bought. It's on the same way the one is on my tractor but easier to...

What is the purpose of the pin in a draft control spring plate on a Jubilee

My Jubilee came with a vane pump that didn't work so I converted to piston. But I don't see how that's relevant to the pin in the draft control spring plate. Anyway I replaced the pin with a larger one so I'm set.

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I see a quarter inch gap with arms fully down in draft control and lever just an inch from top.

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

    5. measure and adjust gap to get 3/16? No, adjust for whatever gap you measured earlier I'm lost. When/where did I measure earlier? Ok I see where you said to measure. I'll go remove the cover and make the measurement. To be sure: the arms will be at full lower and lever at spot I marked...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

Let me see if I follow: 1. With tractor running and in draft control mode and arms at max height move lever down in slow increments until the arms go to max bottom. 2. Mark that spot on lever 3. Take cover off and position arms under big spring like you do for the first adjustment 4. set lever...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I gave up on disconnecting the rod from the plunger on the one with a stuck pin. I went ahead and put it all together with the rod I straightened then it adjusted properly now that I have the bushing for the swivel on correctly. Put it back on and it works better than before in some respects...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

Here are pics of both. They are the same pin - 3/8 x 1 7/16. I measured with a caliper and both show 47/128. Maybe the hole is a little larger on mine? I really had to hammer on the tight one to get it as far out as you see it. I need an extra set of hands to finish getting it out with a pin...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I got the new parts I bought on eBay. There is a difference in the draft plunger and control link rod from mine. The two are still attached and I am having to drive the pin out of the fork. On mine it is a loose fit. Which is right? I thought I'd use the newer one since I had to straighten...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

Here is a pic of my cam edge. It has a slightly raise edge on both sides (with a dip in between). Does that mean this cam is not too worn being it still has 2 distinct edges? The one I just bought is smoother all the way across. I'll add pics of it tomorrow as I'm soaking it in cleaner tonight.

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I drew a little better diagram of the cam specs. I'll try to attach it. I'm brainstorming and idea. My son is a wiz with 3D graphics and 3D printing so I thought I'd see if he can make a plastic piece that would set on top of the cam. It would have slots on the side at .40, .50, .75 and .90...

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I took the draft link rod off again, turned the bushing around and tightened the nut down to the shoulder of the bolt. The spring now measures 3 9/16. It appears that what was a recommended adjustment on an 8N is now a set standard on an NAA

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

I wasn't planning to use any oil as I figured it would get plenty of hydraulic fluid splashed up there but I was planning to use anti-seize on the yoke to draft plunger. Is that bad as well?

    Questions on Jubilee hydraulics

NOW I see the problem. I put the bushing on backwards. The collar goes in, not out. You can see it in that last pic. That will throw the initial adjustment off and for sure would effect have draft control would work. Since I have to take it all apart again I'll put the one I just bought on...
