    Electrical Mystery. Wits End

If you have spark going into the distributor cap but not back out, It has to be an issue with the cap or rotor. I know you said the cap was new. But I'd suggest replacing it again. Maybe put the old one back on just for a test run.

    Mf 35 Hydraulic Pump

Several years back I replaced a strainer in the transmission of my MF 35. Seems like it was inside the left cover plate? I don't recall a lot of details. It was pretty well lugged. Replacing it made a significant difference.

    TO-35 Radiator

My brother went through that on his TO-35. Ordered a couple of different radiators, and they did not fit. He ended up having the original radiator re-cored.

    MF 270 Lift problem.

If your hydraulic lines have quick couplers, try switching the lines that go to the bucket with the lines that go to the main lift cylinders. You might learn something that way.

Massey 253 steering has gone nuts!

Have you looked inside the front housing - In front of the radiator and under the air cleaner? There's a steering arm on my 255 that broke. It was really odd until I figured out that was the problem. It's a long shot, but worth checking.

Full Time Farming With Massey Ferguson

When I was a kid in the 1960s all we had was a TO-35. With a 3-12 plow, an 8' mounted disk, a 2 row planter, and a one row Belle City picker. We had about 56 acres tillable and ~70 acres of pasture to mow with a 7' sickle mower. We put one hell of a lot of hours on that tractor every year...

    MF 265 3ph not raising

I believe in always checking obvious, simple things first. I wonder if the draft control accidentally got moved to the down position. I think that would keep the 3 point hitch from raising.

    Add-on steel wheels

I ran across an ad for these on FB marketplace: Here's a link to the ad: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/737851938290329 Never seen anything like that before. Were they common? Did they fit any Ferguson tractors, or were similar things made for Ferguson?

MF 285 with loader - No down pressure

Got a new to me MF 285 diesel. Bought a loader and installed it. The loader is plumbed into the 2 remotes at the back of the tractor - It does not have a separate valve. When I pull back on the left hydraulic lever the loader goes up as it should. When I push the lever forward it drops...

MF 285 with loader - No down pressure

Yup - That was it. I wish I was skinnier and a bit more flexible. But I got a light under that shield so I could se the screw head. Tightened it up, and not the cylinders work as they should. Thanks for the assist.

MF 285 with loader - No down pressure

So maybe they're behind the holes in the cover that's above the hydraulic filter? I'll look after work this evening.

MF 285 with loader - No down pressure

Here are a few thumbnailed pictures. I don't see any adjusting screws. Maybe they're under the cover?

    Clutch slip?

I'd suggest trying to replicate the situation. Hook the tractor to something you can't move and see what happens.

    3 pt lift

I once had a similar problem with an MF 35. I ended up replacing the strainer inside the transmission housing. It was plugged up.

    MF 275 Wiring

I bought one at: https://wiringharnesses.com/ The engine part of the wiring harness was correct. But the dash part was wrong. It was expensive - Something like $500 for both sections. If I had it all to do over I think I'd use a wiring diagram and start from scratch.

    MF 285 rims

I had to go back and look at the rims to see what you meant. But I get it. Looks like you could really get those wheels out there if you wanted to. I don't think I'm gonna try it. :D

    MF 285 rims

I recently got an MF 285. I'm curious about the rear rims that are on it. Looks like what's on it are maybe optional, or aftermarket? Are they made for weight? Why are the square holes in there. For attaching weights or duals? Here are a couple of pics of what I have:

    Quick Hitch on TO-20

I tried a quick hitch for a while. The thing didn't fit half my implements, and there was no way to modify some of them. I also disliked not being able to use sway bars with the quick hitch on. I ended up selling it.

Massey MF20 3 Point Hitch Moves Left And Right

Look under the fenders. There should be a mounting point for a sway bar there.
