Positive ID of Neighbor's Case Tractor

In todays world why would anyone remove the ser.# plate? In the 40's they did to sell them Black Market. But why now. And how could anyone rebuild it to the point that this one is and not know the model number? I am sure some parts needed that number to be sure they were the right ones???

    A/C Question

Question? I have never seen one post on this subject that recommends sealer. If no one says its good and all says its bad, Why do they make it? Every place I have seen that sells Refridgent has cans of it on there selves.

    L Case

The forum introduction includes Watch fobs. I went through 15 pages and did not find one watch fob. It seems petal tractors are the main topic. Here is a picture of my watch fob. It came with my grandpa"s new 1929 L Case tractor. Picture also of the tractor new and in the middle years now as I...

Were all Case model L dual fuel

I don"t believe they were call dual fuel. They were all (what we called tractor fuel burners) The small tank was not to be used for all day running., just to start the tractor and use until tractor was warmed up. When my Dad bought a new gas burner LA in 1948 he than just used gas in the L . he...

    900?

Not all 930 CK"s had foot clutches . I believe in the last couple of years of the six speed both were available. and all the eight speed were foot. Picture from my 930 book. It shows both hand and foot . No tractor had both at the same time, one or the other.

Case 800 gas Napa oil filter

I bet he meant that even in a given year Case could have made a change in filters. Some engines with by-pass and some full flow.

    Planting using the Diff Lock

I wasn"t saying for sure not using the diff. lock caused his trouble. I found out later that he had water in all four tires (18.4X42) and full weights . I also heard he was pulling 36 foot chiesels in heavy ground. My brother-inlaw also did the same with his 2590 and lost the tran-final drive...

    Planting using the Diff Lock

I was told 30 years ago to use the diff. lock all the time,(only turn off for turning.) Case said it saves the spiders( gears and bushings. ) I say Cases poor way for making a bad rear end. They could make them heaver but the bean counters say make it cheaper. This is on my 2390. I had a 2590 I...

    930-1030 primer pump

On link_disallowed Case Farm Machinery page James Nelson asked about different ways to prime the fuel system different than what came on his 1030. He changed the filter system to the newer spin on’s. His old one was leaking and Case wanted $300 for a new one. WOW what responses .. The conclusion...

Not Going To The Field Today.......

In 1963 in the middle of May our wheat was in the boot and it froze, about 25 degrees. Wheat looked like at harvest about 50 bu. Straw, it made 20. My uncle had pastured his wheat late and it was about 3 in. tall at the same time as ours was in the boot. Froze it back to the ground. It than...

    old cars??

I think I will ask here a few questions about a old car--It might have been a truck in it"s day. As I can"t find pictures of it complete. I find the grill to be a 1925 Dodge, but the motor and Dashboard don"t match a 1925 Dodge car but maybe someone here might know if this was a truck.
