    JD 620 Steering catch issue

I replace all rings, and back up rings, when I have one apart, the vane seals go on easier if heated to 140 degrees in oil , hold the vane in a vise, and install seal, be careful with the vane seal corners, they tear easily.

Having trouble adjusting rear wheels on 630

Just remove the cork plug that is in the hole opposite the pinion bolt head. The pinion bolt is a friction fit in the pinion gear, that is all that holds it in place. Then with a large punch and 4 pound or 6 pound hammer, remove the pinion bolt, clean out rust , lube and reassemble.

    John Deere 4B Plow Identity

Those beam numbers are correct for a John Deere 4B plow, (also correct for a 4C plow) according to the plow book by David Wolfe. I do not know the difference between a 4B and a 4C.

    John Deere 4B Plow Identity

Does your plow have beam numbers cast in the upper surface of each beam? If so, those numbers will identify the model of plow. Post back with those numbers, and I may be able to identify.

    John Deere 60 clutch

The three T bolts sometimes get "shoulders" worn into them when the clutch disks rattle back and forth with the clutch disengaged. You may want to remove the pully, remove the T bolts to ensure they are smooth. The clutch may jump as it locks up when the clutch plates "jump" over the ridges on...

I use Black Beauty, get it in bulk where they "make" it near Paradise, Ky. May want to use dust mask, when emptying or filling cabinet, as I don't know what the dust contains, beside some lead from 1950s paint.

    720 gas transmission

On the left side the flywheel needs to come off, and the cast cover over 4th and 6th gear, on the right side, brake, the clutch, the first reduction cover. It is much easier if you remove the two rear wheels, ( the only way I have done it). You need the JD service manual and maybe the I&T...

    June 29, 95 mph winds

In 2009 ice storm we used a Honda 3500 w generator about 13 hours a day for 11 days. It used 2 gal per day. Oil changes are a concern for extended usage. Gas usage may also be somewhat dependent on load.

    42 centers for 4020-3020 etc...

Looks like 42 inch from a 2 cyl, like from a 520 with large, long axels, casting # A4517R (just went out and looked), the 4 holes and dish shape look the same. This is on a 3 and 1/8 inch axel, may fit other axels with different wedges.
