1969 Ford 4500 alternator wiring

Hello all, I've seen similar topics as this here, but just want to make sure I am doing the wiring correctly on the new alternator me and my father are putting on our Ford 4500.

I've bought https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/ADR0382_Alternator-with-Tach-Drive_30148.htm and https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/164235_Alternator-Conversion-Wiring-Harness_56341.htm to do the job.

Ive found this diagram that is for a 1975 Ford 4500, hopefully i attached it properly, but I just wanna make sure it works for the '69 year, and what I've bought as well.

It looks to me like I'm connecting the WL and F wires together at the regulator, connecting F wire that used to plug into the generator into #1 on the alternator. and also need to connect both B wires at the regulator together too?

You link did not show up.. but... you can.. use the old wires by connecting them at the regulator location... as they show on the literature or...

OR you can just run new wires. I usually tape up the old wires at the front of the engine up so they cant touch anything, and run new wires. I run a #10 gauge wire from the alt big lug to the pos battery post. This will work as a one wire alternator, but... you alt warning light will NOT work and you will need to rev up the engine with you first start it, to get the alternator to energize and start charging.. This is all you need..

AND/or.. I run the second wire, a #16 gauge wire from the #1 spade lug on the alt to the WL wire that I unplug from the regulator and connect them with a male spade lug. THIS WAY... the charge light now will work,,, and I no longer need to rev the cold engine up to get it start charging. This will tell the alternator when the key is on and to charge immediately. By doing it this way, I can always go back to a generator or run the alternator as needed.

And.. if you chose, you can run a short third wire from #2 space on the alt to the big lug on the alt,,,as a remote voltage sense so you dont have to use the internal resistor for voltage regulation/sense.

Bill, seems you are assuming that he's using a Delco 10SI alternator, however he mentions a ''F'' terminal which that Delco does not have. Seems to me we should first find out what kind of an alternator he's using. If it uses a F terminal then it's going to need an external voltage regulator.

So I seem to be on the right track, thank you all very much. I'll hopefully get it running this afternoon after work.

We got it up and running the other day. out battery tester only says like 13.5 volts though. Unfortunately my nice multi-meter gave up the ghost that morning so I couldn't check with it. Thank you all for the wiring help!
