Does anyone have any literature on installing a 9 speed in a farmall H? We have a doner rear end with one already installed, but the owner wants to keep the original tractor together. Does anyone have any tips that have done this?

May have, is it a cable or lever type? Does he have the regular parts to put back or need yours? You need parts for bottom transmission shaft, one gear for top one and the M&W input shaft. Best to get lower shaft all together to avoid pressing parts off and on. Best if you remove the unit and note how parts go. Input shaft and top and lower transmission shaft are removed like a regular H. Take note of how shifter goes and if it has a hole for a lever shift measure location to drill you tractor. If cable get the part cable goes through in front transmission housing. If I remember correct the reverse idler shaft retaining bolt threads need drilled out and replaced with the M&W pin for it's shifter part. Above doesn't apply if it's a M&W with shifter on left side.

If you paid him an extra 100, and swapped rear ends, both of you would be hours and effort ahead. Jim

It’s the cable style. We will pretty much be taking the 9 speed components out of the rear end of donor tractor and putting in customers tractor.

Didn't find instructions. Picture of one with lever and rod shift. On lower shaft in picture everything forward of 1 and 2 gear is M&W. Top shaft only fourth and fifth sliding gear is M&W. Input shaft with double constant mesh gears is M&W. Had a 9 speed H for several years and kept parts in picture in case in case I needed a extra. It was a cable shift. Cable went through a special dowel pin from center housing into transmission.
