You are right! They were toys in comparison of the moder ones. Mine is a 56 volts , and will put many gas powered to shame.Like I stated before I have 3 batteries for it. One charging one cooling and one working. I can weed Wack weeds all day long!

im thinking buying a battery powered weed eater. What experience do you have with DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi etc?

I've had a contractor grade Echo gas trimmer for years. Never let me down, love it. Wife hated it, couldn't start it, too long and heavy for her. Bought her an Ego battery trimmer and matching blower last year. haven't used the gas Echo since. It's too handy, pick it up, press the trigger and you're off. Powerful, two batteries trims the 5 acres we maintain, power-winds the string when re-filling. I'm a convert,
