Here are the three Case cars and drivers entered in the 1st Indy 500 race in May 1911. Case was the 1st company to participate and was rewarded with the pole position. The drivers were Joe Jagersberger, Louis Strang, and Will Jones. Their cars had weak steering components and did not finish the race. The Case racing team won several events but had considerable bad fortune the 1st year.

1911 would be the first Indy 500 race.
And in the first 500, driver Ray Harroun notably drove solo, and won! the only car in the field without a riding mechanic. He famously affixed a rear-view mirror to the car, in order to see cars behind him (a task normally assigned to the mechanic)).

The competition tried to claim he could not race solo but there was no rule requiring a mechanic which was merely the thing to do at the time.

The rules were changed for the 1912 race to require the mechanic ride along until 1923 when it became optional.
