Hi Everyone, first time poster here. Recently picked up a 285 thats been sitting for 15 years. Starts and runs great honestly. Has a few leaks but I'm hoping re-torquing bolts will do the trick.

Any way, I found a 1085 for 1500 bucks....part of what I need for my 285 are rear rims...which these will work and a Cab...will the cab from a 1085 fit a 285? I think they are pretty much the same tractor.

Thank you

TOm

I'm going to guess the cab won't fit...285 more of a straddle model and 1085 a platform model.

Anything possible with cutting the entire
floor out of the 1085 cab and lowering
cab down to platform height of 285. Cab
mounts would also have to be shortened.

Besides removing the cab floor and
possibly being able to shorten-lower rear
cab mounts, the front cab mounts that
bolt to the side of the transmission
would not be able to be used at all.
Front of cab would need to mounted by a
cross member under the transmission.

Any cab bolted directly without rubber
mounts will produce drive train noise
and drive operator out of the cab, no
matter the make or model.

Ok, no worries...I was thinking that the 2 were closer together in builds.

I dont need to cut up a cab to get one on, not that big of a deal.

Thanks all.

They are the same engine, transmission
and rear-end. The operators station is
totally different. Also engine forward is
totally different.
