Basically GL-1, GL-3, and GL-4 are compatible with brass, correct?

Can't assume anything.
GL-2 and GL-3 are obsolete and no longer stocked.
GL-4 is good stuff but usually isn't loaded with sulphur as the GL-5 is to cope with extreme pressures.
Not all GL-4 is yellow metal compatible.
GL-4 is usually found in boat outboard drives where water contamination from failed seals is all to common.
It's just that it's possible to walk into any store and find YM GL-4 while GL-1 is a difficult find.
Seen YM compatible GL-5 somewhere one time but can't recall where. May have been a synthetic product?
