Looking at a 1970 D5B and 1964 D6B, is the D5B a larger machine then the D6B?
What is the weight of each machine with a dozer blade?
What is the net flywheel horse power of each machine?
D5B Power Shift Transmission
D6B Direct Drive Transmission
If they are the same size which would do the most work in the same time period given the different transmissions?

The D6B became a D5 when the D6C came out.

My info shows a 1970 model to be a D5, the D5B did not come out until 1977. The D5 (96J) uses the D333C engine @ 93 hp with bare tractor weight of 25,600 lbs.

The 1964 D6B (44A) uses the D333 engine also @ 93 hp with bare tractor weight of 23,200 lbs.

Both these machines would be direct drive.

If in fact you have a D5B (23X power shift) they had many models and used the 3306 engine @ 105 hp with a bare tractor weight of 24,875 lbs
