looking for info on a antique john deere grain binder. i have one that has just been taken out of a barn after probably 50+ years. 100% complete. still have some tools w/ it. it is not frozen up but it needs restoring. the canvas is roting and a couple of the wooden rollers but otherwise it is all here. anyone interested, call 318-498-0193 or 318-412-1015 evenings, central tme. thank you.

Look on jdparts.com under parts catalog section and should be able to find a parts list for the old binders to download. JD made different header sizes, horse drawn, tractor drawn, ground drive, PTO drive, broadcast binders, row binders which kind is yours ? You said rollers so I assume you have a broadcast type. For JD operators manuals check out JD tech pubs site.

I have never heard of anything called a broadcast binder. The types are ground drive horse drawn and pto drive tractor binder and they both use a series of rollers for the canvases to run on that gather the grain to take to the knotter.

The row binder is a corn binder, not a grain binder. Grain is wheat, oats, barly, & rye.
