Hello All,

I'm still a rookie on the Ford Board but have a friend with a D17, unknown year. It was running fine and then was parked for a few months (outside). It will still start fine, but when he lets the clutch out the tractor dies. He didn't say whether he could put it in nuetral or not, but the clutch must disengage fine as it will start. He assumes the trouble must be in the tranny. They apparently drug it around a little with no success, and quit before they broke something. Any suggestions, would be appreciated. Sorry I don't have more info for you.

Thank you
Chris

I had similar problem with my D17. It had rust in the fuel tank that was clogging fuel line. I blew out fuel line with air hose, worked fine for awhile. Ended up removing tank and cleaning it.
