Can anyone tell me the oil capacity for a 63 MF 50 w/ gas engine. Dipstick lost last year while bush hogging. Never used oil so I just plugged and not replaced. Just changed oil, meant to check oil level (w/ something) but forgot. Removed almost exactly 4 qts w/ filter.

Joe, best get you a MF Operator Manual and make or buy a dipstick. Cheaper than risk an engine loss. Tom

Thanks Chuck. I thought it was 6 qts just wasn't sure. New dipstick on order. May actually be using some oil after all these years.

Hi. I have a 1956 MH 50 and need to change the oil but can't figure out what grade to use. Don't use it in the snowy cold winter if that matters. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I use SAE30 or 5W-30 and that is what has been used for at least 20 years. BUT, I have never had a manual for this tractor and don't really know the recommended grade. Still runs great!
