Trying to keep an open mind on this as I have previously read some nasty things about O'Reilly and they didn't get rid of him back then. Something else going on here. But, you can sure tell the liberals from conservatives on this subject.

If it were my wife, $25 million would buy a lot of pretty flowers for his funeral.

The network must have found something pretty serious in their investigations in order for them to drop him. He was their big gun and their biggest money maker, supposedly. They wouldn't have let him go if the charges were "unfounded", in my opinion.

I was a regular viewer of his program, but had little respect for him as a person--and even less now! If anyone should have known better, it should have been him!

Payoffs are often dictated by insurance companies that will pay millions to avoid litigation that can cost tens of millions. A straight business decision with no concern for right and wrong. It is not a legitimate indicator of what really happened.

By using your logic, bill (pants down from Arkansas) should have paid Juanita Broderick, Paula Jones and Kathleen Wiley BILLIONS in compensation.

I don't know anyone Red or Blue that thinks Billc's behavior was acceptable (especially lying under oath). However to use that poor behavior as an excuse for BillO's behavior is convoluted logic at it's best.

Frankly I am sick of both party's leaders plus a bunch of "above the law" celebs thinking they get to play by different rules.

AMEN TO THAT! You have to be a dammed fool to defend anybody or anything when it comes to politics these days. One side does something, the other side goes nuts. One of their guys does the same thing and all you hear is "It must be OK,their guy did it".
Hypocrites, just plain hypocrites, that's all anybody on either side is anymore. If they're not the sick in the head crooks pulling some garbage, they're the hypocrites defending it.
I'm done with it. No more. I won't be dragged down anymore by a party that says it's the home of the moral high ground, then turns around and becomes famous for harboring predators. When I see something wrong,I'm calling them out,on either side.

Guess I'll toss in my 2 cents.

We don't really know what happened. Lot of people lie when they smell money. So the accusers may be lying in hopes of monetary gain or he may have done what they claim. I doubt we will even know the whole story.

I'm with rrlund on this. Both side are morally reprehensible! It's all about power! The line from a movie goes something about "I'm a politician, one minute I'm kissing a baby the next I'm trying to steal it's lollypop" comes to mind with every politician I hear. One side wants a socialist dictatorship the other a king.

Don't twist what I say. I don't defend or condemn O'reily. He is a big boy and responsible for his own actions.

I an sick and tired of the hypocrites that are quick to jump on the bandwagon, wagging their fingers at somebody else when their own heroes have done every bit as much or often much worse, but they were silent then.

If you were silent then, you have no moral high ground to stand on now.

I wasn't silent then and I am not silent now. I am fed up with my party (red) preaching morality, then being convicted.
It is disgusting. I am appalled and embarrassed by some of the people I trusted and supported, Like the former Speaker of the house for 8 years, 3rd in line for the presidency, now in jail. The longest-serving Red Speaker of the House in history, and "one of the highest-ranking politicians in American history to be sentenced to prison."

Being an immoral lying crook is not limited to either party, and defending them just because they claim to be in my party is not my style.

I'd rather not, thank you very much! Rolling Eyes
