I'm looking at a super major that has been sitting under cover. Has transmission problem-- possibly stuck shifter fork. Any thoughts on how difficult these transmissions are to work on?

Shouldn't be that difficult just take your time, I had to fix my major, as it was stuck in low range. I went on major mans advice, and he was spot on. If it is the same as my major the shifting forks come out with the plate by the clutch pedal. Kinda a bear to figure out how it went back in to get things lined up but not too bad. With that cover and the belt pulley off I was able to get it freed up and working.

There was no split required with my problem, if it is just a fork, you should be able to access it through the pto engagement lever, if it is a bearing or gear problem then a split will be required.
