I have a 2003 dixon 4518k ZTR riding mower that the left hydro gear 334-2400 has gone out. I found a hydro gear 350-2400 that is from adixon 2004 4518k ZTR. Will it work on my dixon or is there that much of a design differance. the hydro for mine has been discontinued. I do not want to buy a new mower. would just like to fix mine. any info would be appriciated.
thank you

This site with cross reference list does not list the 350 as a replacement
for 334 prefix. Internet says other brands used same pump with their own part numbers.

I don't know, the wheel will not move foward or reverse. I took it to the dixon repair shop & they said it needed a new transmission $2000.00 plus labor. I can't afford that. I can get the hydro gear 350-2400 for $300.00

you are sure that the park brake is unlocked, have had brake arm come undone therefore it does not
let tranny move. sounds like that shop does not want work on it,they way off, i could sell you a
whole new mower for that price. i probably have one here in the used parts shed, where are you.

My son has looked at it,it is the transmission that is bad the right wheel spin as it should. he has looked at the 350-2400 & says he thinks it will work but not 100% sure. Say's it is probaly like cars of same brand (gm) they use same engine & transmission in different models & years. I am located in lipan texas.

is there any possibility that you have a drive belt problem? if the left pump is not working, it is very common that the idler pulley arm will get stuck in position and not put enough belt tension to run the left transaxle,
does the pump make any noise when trying to move? if it does, might be a bad pump, if it does not make a lot of noise, could just be a belt tension problem.
just a thought and maybe a fix
