I just bought a '79 Ford 5600 that has four rear hydraulic connections (2 control valves). I just found a 3-point backhoe attachment local to me that works from a single pair of hydraulic connections.

My question is - how do you open the flow/bypass the valve on the tractor to allow fluid to flow to the control valves - unimpeded - on the backhoe?

I'm guessing/hoping I'm missing something simple and this will just work, but I wanted to check with the group before committing to a purchase that will require modifications to the tractor to make it function.

Thanks,

Tim

I am not familiar with that tractor. I assume it's a simple open center hyd. system, as well as the backhoe. Typically you would just plug into one set of remotes, and tie the lever for constant flow.

Tie the hyd lever 'on' with a bungee cord.

Need to match open or closed center hydraulics.

If you have more flow (probably don't...) you might need to return the oil flow to the sump so it doesn't heat the oil so bad - the quick couplers restrict some. I doubt this would be a problem in your setup.

Can always get a pto pump and not use the tractor hydraulics, as an option.
