Has anyone had an 88 crank pressure lubed on the rod journals?

Yes because it was bought to me to do. Don't think it needs it ran for a long time with out. Weakens crankshaft cause you drill out.

you can use a 354 Perkins crank, not cheap but it's forged steel and you can go to 5.5 stroke with just an offset grind
