What oil weight should I use in my rebuilt Fordson model f? Should I use non detergent engine oil?

It take 9 quarts right?

15w40 Rotella would work just fine.

No need for non detergent, the 15W-40 rosella or Delvac will work great.

I run SAE30HD in mine. All the way through. Motor, trans, rear, except hydraulics obviously. Haven't had a problem yet. I did however use 11 cases to completely do the whole tractor and I did add Zinc to the engine oil just to make me feel better.

The only recommended use for non detergent oil is lubricating door hinges.
