I have an I-400 with an engine serial number of 12-7260-R, is this a G138 or G149 the piston dia. is 3.5 in. What did they do to go from 138 cu in to get to 149 cu in. Can a 138 be upgraded to a 149 cu in.

What does the "R" at the end of the serial number mean?

Thanks

I'm not home where all my notes are but, at s/n 3001 and up I'm pretty sure they are the G-149. Actually the 3.5 bore X 3.875 stroke is 149. The R is for regular gasoline fuel I think. Blocks are the same between 138 and 149, so it's just a piston/sleeve swap.
