I've done the separation dance on quite a few vehicles. Just wondering. Is there a way to separate the 8n tractor with a front loader. That's easier than to completely disconnect the tractor from the loader? "I'm only one man". ( Ron White )

I figure about the best way is to take the loader off, so much easier to handle the splitting especially if it's a Wagoner. But then again I think pretty much all of them are attached to the rear axles and you're not gonna be able to roll the rear back or the front forward if the loader is attached. Just my thoughts, Keith

About the only way to do it is remove the loader. Depending on what loader it has some are easy to remove others are a pain. My 1950 late model 8N has a loader and backhoe an I thought I was going to have to split it open due to a transmission problem but some how it fixed it self so not going to do it now. I had the backhoe of and that is when things started working as they should

Thank you for the answer. Looking at it I'll have to remove it all. Or at least the axle braces. Again thank you. Ya wanna come over and have a beer and do most of the work? Great deal huh?

I have a shop that is set up for doing just such a job. I have 4 chain hoists mount to an I-Beam and 3 are on trolleys so you can move parts out of the way. Did a clutch job on an 8N back in Nov. Took about 10 hours to do the whole job but we also did more then just the clutch while we had it apart. With a loader having that set up or another tractor with a loader is a big help or even a big tree and a chain hoist hanging form the tree to hold the loader. My shop was set up for working on cars and tractor so splitting one is not all that hard to do.

And there is the simple difference between ( shade tree hobbyists ) and someone that has taken the the time and funding to prepare correctly for mechanical Jobs.

On a humorous note: I was looking for a couple of wenches to help in my flywheel repair. Typed in Manual wenches. Easy enough. Waited for results....Got two
pages of wenches...Barmaids..Milkmaids..Pirate maids...Not one pulley type wench..okay get your mind out of the gutter the other kind of pulley wench. Maybe I
can get one of those wenches to help..with my flywheel..yep that's it my flywheel.
Thought I would share this. Had me laughing so hard from the surprise.
