I have a 1942 Ford 2n 6volt Front mount w/Sherman Lo-range trans. Removed bottom bolt on the inspection plate and checked dipstick and fluid was very low if any at all. Started adding slowly about 6 quarts. Fluid slowly showing on dipstick, got close to full mark but nothing from inspection hole. Added one more qt and next morning checked it and probably that last quart is on the floor coming from the center cotter pin but nothing from the inspection plate.Started it up and checked everything seems to work fine. Any advise is appreciated! Thanks. I do have F04 manual.

Then I'd say you overfilled it initially and you should be good to go.
