Did you check for broken valve springs or a bent pushrod??

adj. the valves this morning, no help, second back from the front cycl. is not heating the exhaust manifold like the other cyclinders, tried cleaning the nozzle, going to swap out the injector to another cycl. see if its in the pump or nozzle

What do you have for compression on that cyl?

guess I may have to check no. 4 cycl.. when but at the fuel lines, no 4 is not getting the bang the rest are, maybe one tooth off in the rack? guess it could be low compression, doesn't seem to have a lot of blow by,, probly be easier to check comp first

I suspect that there is a blown copper washer underneath the delivery valve in the top of the pump. I have done several of those over the years. loosen the line and watch the fuel flow out of the top of the pump, if there is constant and a excess amount of fuel that could be the problem. unless someone as been in the pump and the problem was created then i doubt any rack related issues. Maybe Dieseltech or pumpman will pop in here on this one.

ok, thanks, had the lines unhooked, fuel looks pretty even across the pump, trying to figure out a compression tester for it.
