New to forum, have read a lot about testing hydraulics with flow meter. Northern Tool has one for 400 bucks. Is that what I need?

Maybe but not likely. What problem are you having and with what part of what machine? I've worked on a lot of hydraulic systems and always got along without a flow meter.

Flow meter make it easy to tell if a hydraulic pump has excessive wear, can be helpful in checking a CASE powershift for leaks also, but there are ways to check that
without one. Rod.

How many RPS34 Case PS trannys have you diagnosed and repaired. That is what he want's a hyd flow and pressure meter for.
As Rod said, those that are schooled on repairing them can make some educated guesses using some other processes, but the flow meter is the correct way to trouble shoot Case power shift trannys.

That's the piece of info that was missing, and why I asked. Forums in general benefit from having as many details as possible in each post.
