I'd seriously look at a Mack Truck engine. A lot of similarities.

Anything is possible if you throw enough time and $$ at it. Is the Scania motor done, or is it rebuildable? Most of my experience with Sciana was with European semi tractors. They were generally consider to be some of best trucks, and there was a lot of export demand shipping old trucks to third world countries. I'd guess engine kits should be available but probably costly? Scania truck models 110 thru 114 and 140 thru 144 I think used V8's. Probably be nice to put a Cummins in if you can.
