Does anyone know what the operating rpms is for the 172 industrial ford gas engine. I am running one on a generator at 1800 rpm and it sounds like it is screaming

Rated speed for farm tractors is 2100 RPM.

I have one on a Onan gen set. You need to check the cycles and set them at 60 hz. It is also a good plan to check the 3 Ph are at 120 degrees apart. Last, check the voltage. Ed

Generators are normally intended to be spun at 1725 RPMs or 3450 RPMs
