Congratulations.

I have 4 of them.
Have not seen 2 of them in over 3 years because they live in Germany.
The other 2 live next store to me so I see them almost every day.

Congrats - we have 6, oldest 2 are 8 and youngest one is 2. Grandparenting is great, I seem to have a lot more patience with them than I did their parents!

Really stinks to have your grandkids across the country or half-way around the world. I had no grandkids until I was nearly 70, then had twin grandsons. But they're a long way from here, and I've seen them only twice. They're nearly three now.

At least it sounds like you know where they are. We have not seen ours for about 9 years now and don't even know where they are. Just monday the dad of the kids, my stepson, told us that childrends services had contacted him as they were taken away from the Mom for neglect. His Dad's sister is just starting to try to get them as they are in the best position to provide a stable family that the kids need. If that happens then we will again be able to see them.
