Thanks for the ideas. I have spark at the points when I open and close them. Tried putting power to the coil and got nothing. I am converting the tractor to 12. I ordered the kit and a 12 volt coil. Is their anything else that I need to do it and any advise on how to do it? Thanks.

Spark at points but tried to put power to coil and got nothing????????? . The way it should be wired it this. Ignition to coil then other wire from coil to points so if wired right you have to have power to the coil or the points will not have power

not maing any sense. you HAVE to have power to the coil before you can test sparks by opening and closing points.

step back and retry your tests.

Good luck. If it won't run on 6 volts it probably won't run on 12 volts either. Get it to run before converting.
