My neighbor gave me a 530 square baler. The reason he gave it to me is because it has problems. My question is: What kind of baler twine can the baler use? Can it use either plastic or the sisal kind of twine? Thanks for your help, Bob

Dad had a 530 baler back in the early 70's, and it was used when he got it. That was before plastic twine was availble, at least in our neighborhood.

When I bought my first plastic twine I asked friends if they had needed to adjust anything, they told me no. On the package it said "for all properly adjusted knotters". Regardless of what twine you use the knotters will have to be properly adjusted, so it would be well worth your while to get the manual and go through the whole adjustment procedure.

That 530 will work just fine with 9600ft plastic. You will need a book to get every thing adjusted and maintained properly.Buy one.But you could get lucky and have it work perfect right from the start....You still need a OM.Good luck! Steve
