In this case, ME!!!!
Bought a John Deere garden tractor part I REALLY needed on Fleabay, and paid for it with PayPal. (May 31.)
Seller waited ELEVEN days after payment to drop it off at the Post Office.
USPS tracking ACKNOWLEDGES it was shipped on June 11TH.
It is now June 18TH and there"s NO further tracking, nor has it showed up.
NOT much $$$$$, but I NEED it!
Seller initially wouldn"t even confirm a shipping date, and now basically says "too bad sucker"
Funny, I"ve had HUNDREDS of good Fleabay experiences, and a few BAD, but when it goes WRONG, it REALLY goes wrong!
Do yourselves a favor, and watch out for "kohlerjd110"! |

Let's see if I have this right.
You bought a used part from an E-bay Seller.
You paid via Paypal but the part has not arrived.
USPS acknowledges that they were given the parcel.
Whether the Seller waited 11 days prior to handing the parcel over to USPS is irrelevant. There could be several reasons as to why he waited that long.
As I see it, the Seller is not responsible for this package once he places it with USPS so I fail to find any rationale for you to criticize the Seller over the non-delivery of the item. He did all that he could. The issue is now between you and Paypal. File a claim with Paypal. They will eventually refund your money due to the transaction not being completed. The Seller can file a claim with the Post Office.
Sorry about your luck with this transaction but things like this do happen and they have happened to me in the past. e-Bay has nothing to do with shipping of items and therefore are without blame here, as well. You could have had the item shipped via a courier service but that would have cost more. Under the circumstances, smearing the name of an e-Bay Seller on an open forum without any just cause is pretty pathetic. |

And I suppose that you have positive proof of that allegation?
e-Bay is nothing more than an online location for vendors to sell items. Your local newspaper does the same thing. Neither of them are obligated to investigate whether items posted for sale are stolen or legitimate.
e-Bay works very hard to remove listings that are fraudulent every single day. In the final analysis, the onus is on the buyer to make sure what he is buying is on the up and up, not e-Bay or Craigslist or any other publication. Your post is ludicrous. |

Why would he leave negative feedback?
Explain to me what the Seller did wrong to deserve it. |

"Explain to me what the Seller did wrong to deserve it."
Well, I dunno, Tom, perhaps waiting ELEVEN days to mail the part, then refusing to come clean about when he mailed it.
So, you are OK with behavior like that from a seller???????
Had their been some reason he COULDN'T mail it and he would have sent me a message to that effect I would have been OK with it.
I had folks like that before and still left them positive feedback 'cuz they COMMUNICATED.
Instead, when a week passed AFTER the ebay suggested likely delivery date, he was evasive about the actual shipping date and a snotty jerk.
NO reason to leave ANYTHING but (-) feedback for a seller like that! |

Not long ago, I purchased a mower-related item on eBay, and the Seller used USPS including a tracking number.
Tracking showed it leaving his city, going to another city in his State, and that"s where it sat for a WEEK!!!
Thinking it had fallen behind a conveyor belt the Seller shipped a replacement.
Days after the replacement arrived, the original item showed up. I refused shipment, forcing USPS to ship it back to him on their dime.
USPS seems to have issues!!! |

Should be very easy to get your money back through paypal or ebay by filing that you never received item! |

I have two negative feedbacks.I had a buyer one time leave me negative feedback because I was a poor communicator. Never mind the fact he got a new part for pennies on the dollar and I paid for the shipping and insurance. The other was for a generator advertised as a core needing re-building. The buyer expected a fully functional generator.
So, you're wrong, some folks do learn. I quit selling on Ebay because of the idiots I had to deal with. |

Lemme see, you listed a quality part WITHOUT a staring bid or a RESERVE, and a guy got a good deal, and it's HIS fault????
Did you wait ELEVEN days to mail it, as well??? |

I got the part.
Only reason was that I had stopped at the local PO after starting this thread, and asked if they could track it in any more detail than I could at the consumer site.
NO, it was still in New York state.
A couple days later, the postmaster called me and said they had a heavy package come in with a blank-appearing shipping label with neither my name or the tracking barcode visible.
It was my part. He asked me to bring him the tracking # from ebay so he could report it delivered, as the barcode wouldn't scan and the info couldn't be discerned by human eyes.
SHORT version,
1. The useless seller waited 11 days to mail the part.
2. He covered the Paypal shipping label with clear tape that absorbed/destroyed/obliterated the printing. (I saved the label and will post a photo when I have a few minutes.)
3. Somehow, the PO did a remarkable job of getting the poorly packed/labeled part to where it needed to be!
Should I leave the ebay seller (+) feedback? |

For the information of all reading this off topic thread...
I checked out the seller. His feedback rating is excellent. 2 negatives and 585 positives. So, I read some of the feedback. Overwhelmingly complimentary. The 2 negatives were simple misunderstandings from unreasonable buyers. Like one is from a buyer that insists that the listing for local pickup only be shipped to him. He has been a member for over 11 years. This tells me that he is an honorable man that I would not hesitate to do business with.
Now, having said this, what is the point in venting against the seller here in a forum that has nothing to do with eBay? And why slander eBay here? (fleabay?? a fence for stolen goods?)
FYI eBay has a rather extensive conflict resolution department. They are very thorough and effective. They are monitoring MILLIONS of transactions daily. How incredible is that???
IMHO eBay has made the world a better place. They have made it possible for me to buy or sell items that would be impossible otherwise. |

I agree with you bob. Imagine if you didn't pay in a week and a half! Their tunes would change then! I would leave a negative and comment seller didn't ship item you for a week and a half after he was paid for a item you needed. Don't let other fleabay sellers here convince you otherwise. |
