Before I go look at a used one, Like to know more about the hydraulic tensioning. Is it prone to problems? My old 311 is worn out, new knotters and cam gears will set me back 2000.00.
Local dealer has one for 7590.00 I need to check it out before I decide to give up on small squares or dig deeper if ya know what I mean.

Hydraformatic is quite trouble-free. Dropping $2K on a 311 is borderline insanity IMHO. A decent 570 is 3 to 4 times the baler a brand new 311 would be.

I have the hydraulic tension on my 311, makes a good consistent bale. Never had any trouble with it.
