Backed off brakes because they feltlike they were dragging. Yet the feel still exsisits, hear a chatter and clinking some then its free. Does it everytime i go to drive tractor. What else might it be. doesn't sound or seem right.

clunking sound i meant. Did over heat right side last year when roading a mowe over to a different locarion last fall. Got it pretty warm smoking some.

takw them apart sometimes there's all kinds of dirt and dust in there that won't allow them to work right

May be broken or weak return springs.
