I wonder, if in Germany, your driving a ford and the water pump goes out like your friend.
Would it cost $2700?

It's called robbers and thieves--the very reason I refuse to take my MC to the local Honda dealership..

LMAO. My secretary had her 5 year old Ford Taurus in the shop a number of times and it never cost less than $1500. And they never fixed her problem....

Bottom line is it doesn't matter what the brand - dealer service is very pricey. I just finished helping my son change the oil and filter in his BMW 325xi - 7 quarts of Valvoline SynPower and a filter was $50. Took all of 20 minutes to do the job and half of that was spent trying to get my lift adjusted to hit the four tiny lift pads on the car Twisted Evil The dealer wants $200 for an oil change.

TOH

Went to Sheboygan a couple of weeks ago in my Dodge truck, while on the way there, started to develop a vibration, by the time I got there 6 hours later, a definate vibration. called the local Dodge dealer on Sunday and left a message asking to get in Monday after I get off the fishing charter. They got me in at 12:30, and was on the road home by 2:00. Bill for parts(u-joint) and labor was under $170. Still some good guys out there.

Tyvoda STEALERSHIP wanted $900 to replace the waterpump and belt on my son"s 2008 Tyvoda Tundra with 52,000 miles.

NEW waterpump is $40 from Rock Auto and belt is also $40, and it does NOT appear to be a bad job to do, at least NOT for a savings of $820!

WE shall see, probably next weekend.

52,000 miles... must be the GREAT Tyvoda quality they talk about!

Still too high.U joint is 20 bucks.150 for labor. Some u joints are stinkers but a half hours labor should change one.Just looked on the shelf,I bought 2 u joints at NAPA for 23.00.I dont like crawling under the truck these days but the same job cost me 12 bucks.Front joint was bad.I buy both because it hard to decide which is bad.I fixed a 50 Ford u joint out on the road. The car had 3 possible u joints in use.

Wrong, 36! U-joints for my 3/4 ton are not 20 bucks, and laying on my back working on a driveshaft in a strange city does not appeal to me. Plus, the u-joint has to be heated with a torch to release the plastic resin that holds it in. I"m quite happy with the service I got.
