Anyone have a good solution to stop the main gear box from leaking besides puting a new seal in it? thought about putting corn head grease in it will that help?

Give corn head grease a try.

Price a set of gears,, then you will gladly change the seal.....it's not that bad of job...

Put corn head grease in the rear end of my Chevy pickup and it fixed the leak was thinking of putting a couple squirts in my dodge trany to but it stopped leaking

Ray - here's some words directly from John Deere.


Corn Head Grease

Thins to gear oil when working; thickens to grease when resting.

Factory fill for all John Deere corn heads.
