Went to an action Saturday with plans to be a spectator but came home with a 4018 Ingersoll tractor that nobody wanted. Has a 48" deck under it but no belt from the PTO clutch down. Is there a site where the belts are listed in sizes instead of OEM part numbers? Also the dealer locator on the web site doesnt work for me. Would anyone happen to know the closest dealer to central OH?

I had never given an Ingersoll much thought before this one fell in my lap. Easy to see why you owners are passionate about them, well built machines.

The closest aftermarket belt will be a 1/2x71 Kevlar. But, I don't recommend it. The OEM belts are 9/16 wide and much superior to the 1/2.

Contact Brian Hildreth at Salem Power Equipment, he can fix you up.

Thanks Ken I will contact Brian. I dont think we will be needing much, tractor is low houred and seems well taken care of. Came with extra new blades and deck belt. Dont think we did too bad for spending pocket change?

Butch, Nice find !

Steve Guider is good contact on Case and Colt L&G Tractors here in Ohio. Since Ingersoll made the Case I am sure he would have knowledge and parts if needed.

His phone is 937-363-3523. His ad in L&G Tractor magazine states Used Tractors, parts and attachments.

Bill

Butch, I would not spend the extra money for the genuine 9/16 belt. I bought a 4020/60 inch deck three years ago, purchased the high priced belt, it lasted about a season. Picked up a red rotary belt, it has already lasted twice as long as the OE belt. For a third of the money. Tom

The prices for OEM belts have dropped substantially in the past few
months due to a restructuring of the supply chain. Granted....there
are some very good aftermarket V-belts out there but most owners
have found that the OEM belts give them the greatest amount of
life. I cannot account for your experience other than to say that it is
unusual.

Steve Guider is a good source of information for the Colt and early Case tractors because he is a collector/restorer. However, Steve is NOT a dealer. Brian Hildreth IS a dealer and keeps a large inventory of parts on hand and will mail your order out promptly. As a bona fide Ingersoll dealer, Brian is very knowledgeable about all the tractors bearing the Ingersoll brand and is one of the most helpful individuals I know. A link to Brian's site is posted below.

Case branded garden tractors were made by the J. Case company at Winneconne, Wisconsin until Case SOLD the division to Jack Ingersoll in late 1983 when it was renamed. Currently, Ingersoll is owned by Eastman Industries and is based in Maine.
