I have a WD45, wide front with the three bolt pivot plate. The 5/8" bolt holes are stripped. Is there enough metal in that casting so that I can bore it out and tap for 3/4" bolts?

I wonder if there is enough material that you can drill and tap a deeper hole.

If you don"t have enough metal to go bigger use a 5/8 helicoil,it will be just as strong as the original tapped hole.

if there was enough meat for 3/4, I'd tap for a large pipe plug and then go back standard.

seen block decks repaired that way.

Heli-coils are much stronger than tapped holes in cast. Also they are invisible once installed if your going for the restored look.
