I have a Allis C that was my great grandfathers I put a fast paint job on it a few years back when I was in school for a ag class project and separated the wheels from the hubs and every since the wheels will not stay tight on the centers. And yes I did put the cam bolts back in the right clamps and fall owed the directions in the operators manual. Is there any trick that I might be missing I would like to play around a little with the tractor but I'm afraid that a wheel will fall off on it while I'm using it. Any thoughts would be helpfull thanks. Ryan

The eccentrics go next to each other. If you do not have enough take up there is at least 3 solutions

1) Use 4 eccentrics so you have twice the take up.
2. Use shim material between the "shoe" and the rim.
3. Add material to the eccentric shoes by welding and grinding to shape.

I am sure there are other solutions.

there should also be two lugs welded to your rim, and one of the locks fits snug between them.. that keeps the rim from slipping and letting the cams get loose... When you tighten the two ecentrics, can you turn them all the way around so they are loose again ?? IF so, you need to add a shim under the ecentic in the VEE as TEd said. Once you get everything on the rim tight, then you need to retighten the 4 bolts/ nuts with a BIG wrench or impact.

Ok. Is there a certin type of materal that would work best or just a thin piece of sheet metal under the clamp. I tried to weld on one and grind it back down to make it tighter but I'm not that good welding cast. One more question on that tractor. Years ago we replaced the engine with one off of a silage blower and now there is not much adjustment in the throttle idle or wide open. Did the blower have a different gov then a tractor. I ordered a new gov for it and it did not fit looks like it was converted from a mag to a distributer and I needed to order one for the mag to fit rite. Any thought what I can to to help with the throttle.

Brass is best , won't rust. If not brass, use beer can.

I cut galvanized strips a little longer then the clamp and fold the ends to a 90 degree bent so they didn't slip out.
Extra eccentrics will not make any difference, see picture. LOL Bob

for throttle adjstment, take the rod from the carburetor to the horizontal arm behind the radiator off at the radiator end. Put the throttle lever to wide open. The spring on the governor will pull the horizontal arm tight and it will move away from the thermostat housing toward the radiator. Now take the rod from the carburetor and hold it up to the hole in the arm. You should have to stretch a few thousands to get the rod into the arm. If the hole is not in the right place, then you bend the arm forward or back untill the rod end just slides into the arm... That should sync the governor to the carburetor.
