Bought a nice Standard 77. Ser.# has C77" E " On the end, What does the " E " represent in the Trans. code.

Can you post the complete serial number? If "E" means the same thing on a 77 as it does on an 88 it has a slow speed rear end.

c77E is the normal tranny code for the 77 standard.

The ser.# for the 77 is 272367 C77E I think that makes it a 1950
