I have a white 4-225 that has a noisey hydraulic pump. The tractor also has the hydraulic oil filter bypass light on constant. I was told when the hydraulic oil is warmto hot that the pto/rear final drive light will come on.I have ordered the o-rings and backup washers for the charge pump inlet and outlet tubes. But before I tear into this tractor Is there any pressures I should check first? Is there anything I should look for while in there?

check the compensator valve. try turning it back a half turn to see if it quiets down.it might need a new one.

check for excess pump leakage, remove small line from pump and install line to a bucket, run for 15 seconds . should be less than a quart of leakage

The noise from the main hydraulic pump is coming what I think is aereatd hydraulic oil.The charge pump is either sucking in air or is leaking oil out enough to cause the oil to slightly foam.
The parts diagram shows multiple o-rings.Which I have ordered. Just asking if there is a way to check charge pump before taking tractor apart.

Check your case drain leakage and also get yourself a 3000 PSI gauge and do some pressure checks first.

oil aeration coming from excess oil dumping on bevel gear driving hydraulic pump. take cover off, cover with a piece of cardboard and run. peek under cover and you'll see the oil foaming

above hyd oil filter there should be a white round sender remove it and put 100 psi gaugeshould be 25 or better this is charge pump pressure back off the compensator see if pressure goes up that would indicate main pump has too much internal leakage .do leak test at top of main pump 2 gal per minute allowed there.if you work on charge pump internal shaft seal can allow it to suck air also causindg noise
