found a safety start switch on ebay that lets me use the delco remy switch on my te20. it is a plate that mounts to tranny and switch mounts to plate. i wonder if that was a factory fix for the usa tractors?

The proper British safety start switch is available again, brand new!
What is wrong with your original? Unless the bakelite is broken,
they are an easy fix. Simply remove the two contacts from the
bakelite, clean them well and if needs be put a thin washer behind
them when rebuilding( to keep the contacts proud) A thin shim of
copper, plastic. or even card will do.

I bought a new switch from a fellow in England off
of E-Bay. I found the new switch needed very minor
tweaking to fit properly but have had no issues
with it in three years.
