Pour warm water around the door seals to get it open, then put it inside to thaw out, silicone spray on the seals helps to keep it from sticking.

no heated place to put it. I envy those who have heated garages or other some sort of shelter.

How far is it from the house? Most home water heaters have a drain valve threaded to accept a garden hose. You could use that hot water to spray on the door, which will melt the ice and allow it to open. The hot water also tends to vaporize rather than turn back into ice.

Saddle up your horse and ride up to harbor freight and get and electric hot air gun. Only about $10. I used mine just this morning to thaw a gearbox.

I had a ford naa once that would not start in the cold. I either had to park it so the sun would hit the carb. or get out the wife's blow dryer.
